Where many cosmetic doctors and plastic surgeons offer traditional lipo as their sole method for removing fat, Dr. Accetta only uses this traditional method for removing large volumes of fat.
Dr. Accetta performs traditional liposuction by making a tiny, inconspicuous incision then inserting a cannula, or hollow tube, to remove the fat from the desired area using suction and a back and forth motion. Patients are given either IV Sedation or general anesthesia depending on their specific case and circumstances.
In the traditional method of liposuction, a sterile saline solution containing local anesthetic and adrenaline is infused into the area to reduce trauma and bleeding. The solution also helps to break up the fat deposits so that they can be removed more quickly and easily.
