Performed with a 980 Diode Laser, LASER BLEPHAROPLASTY is a 30 minute outpatient or in office procedure requiring only a local anesthetic and tiny (one millimeter) pinhole incision which literally closes on its own within minutes following the procedure!!! Laser Blepharoplasty is a FDA approved procedure.
The procedure is extremely safe, bloodless, painless and highly effective. The laser fiber (1/2 of one millimeter) is placed under the skin into the fat pads under the eye whereby the laser energy safely and effectively melts away the fat. Subsequently, the laser energy is then used to tighten the skin under the eyes. This tightening is an immediate effect however, it is not the end of the story… After approximately 6 weeks your body will begin to form a significant amount of new collagen which not only further tightens your skin but, greatly decreases the dark discoloration many times associated with this condition.
Following the procedure the patients may drive themselves home but are encouraged to use ice packs for ten minutes every hour for the next 6-8 hours. Most patients do experience bruising however it is typically minimal and resolves within 7 days.
